DIY Day

DIY Day @ ASPTL I'm so very excited to participate in my first DIY day, hosted by Kimba at A Soft Place to Land.
I told you in a previous post, that I was up late, with ideas swirling around in my head. Well, today, I finally worked on making those ideas a reality. Keep in mind, that I am NOT a decorator. But I love reading everyone else's blogs and seeing the great decorating ideas out there. So I put those ideas together and did this:

Before: (excuse the mess made by Hurricane Addie)

After:
(Forgive my posting, I'm still new and a little shakey with all of this stuff).
But, I am so proud at how this turned out. I had been waiting on my wonderful hubby to hang pictures for me. Waiting and waiting and waiting.....so today I decided why not try to do it myself. It really wasn't so bad. (Just don't look too hard, I'm sure they are not even or level and there are probably eighty five nail holes--shhhhh, don't tell anyone).
Another project is that "table" behind the sofa. Using what I had, (and knowing hubby wanted to use/keep those awful speakers), I thought about how I could make them pretty. We had purchased those wood planks at Christmas to hold my Department 56 collection. They make a nice surface to place my scrapbooks and a few decorative pieces.
As I said, I couldn't be more happy with the way this turned out. I am very proud of myself!
Check out more DIY projects at A Soft Place to Land. Kimba always has fantastic ideas and all the other bloggers listing their projects are fun too!
Have an amazing day,
Angie

Very nice...once you get the bug going, you won't be able to stop. You'll see things everywhere and wonder how you can make that happen in your own home! :)

Doesn't it feel sooo good to do something on your own that your hubby didnt get around to doing. Great job with the photos!
